4 Finalists Chase $25 Mil. Mini Cooper
October 07, 2005

Finalists for Mini will be briefed late next week. NEW YORK Mini Cooper USA has chosen four finalists for its estimated $25 million creative account after hearing presentations this week, sources said.

Independents Mother and StrawberryFrog in New York, Venables Bell & Partners in San Francisco and Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners in Sausalito, Calif., remain in contention.

The finalists will be briefed late next week or early the following week. Final presentations are slated for the first week of December, sources said.

Credentials meetings were held on Wednesday and Thursday at the client's Woodcliff Lake, N.J., headquarters. Independents Amalgamated and Taxi, both in New York, Boone/Oakley in Charlotte, N.C., and Interpublic Group's Sedgwick Rd. in Seattle also made presentations, sources said.

Consultant Hasan + Co. in Raleigh, N.C., could not be reached. A client representative confirmed the cut, but would not identify the contenders. Agency executives either could not be reached or declined comment.

The winner will replace MDC Partners' Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Miami, which resigned the Mini Cooper business last month in order to take on Volkswagen's $400 million account.
